{"id":792,"date":"2021-02-22T20:59:00","date_gmt":"2021-02-23T02:59:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/christianorphanfund.com\/?p=792"},"modified":"2021-02-23T20:48:27","modified_gmt":"2021-02-24T02:48:27","slug":"barker-family-returns-from-india","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/christianorphanfund.com\/index.php\/2021\/02\/22\/barker-family-returns-from-india\/","title":{"rendered":"Barker family returns from India"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My wife and I just returned Friday from India with our precious daughter (photo attached) that you all helped us adopt and we wanted to reach out right away. &nbsp;<br>Thank you so much for everything you\u2019ve done for so many families. &nbsp;We met our daughter only 11 days ago. &nbsp;She was sick, very small for her age (15 pounds at 2 years old), hadn\u2019t eaten solid food in weeks according to the orphanage, emotionally withdrawn, and had developed self-soothing methods that included hitting her head on the floor and wall. &nbsp;In the short intervening time, we have begun to see her smile (and even laugh). &nbsp;She is eating everything we can put in front of her\u2014she\u2019s already up to 16 pounds!
