What if Jesus was calling you to follow Him; however, the weight of this calling would crush you,
and from that crushing out would pour His love, His mercy, and His plan… would you step out in faith like Peter, or would run away like Jonah?
In 2022, that exact calling was placed upon our family for Flantscheska and Jackson from
Children of The Promise in Cap-Haitian, Haiti. There was no denying the volume in which Jesus
was calling, “Follow me to them!” His calling was met with a simple yet undeniably powerful
response when placed in His hands, “Yes!” From 2022 to April, 18th 2025, He would carry us
through every valley placing us gently on every mountaintop. In the waiting as long and as
painful as it was His presence was a constant reminder, “What I’ve ordained I will sustain” and
we, stayed the course knowing the outcome was going to change all seven of our lives! GOOD
FRIDAY, the same day thousands of years ago the world held its breath waiting for His
resurrection, was the same day Jackson and Flantscheska received their restoration and
became American Citizens!!
Flantscheska, from May 28th to June 1st, landed herself in ICU and it was during that moment of
all moments we heard Jesus again! Sitting by her ICU bed the calling for His final child to enter
our family had been placed. I remember looking at Tim thinking out loud, “This is not the right
time, how does He believe it is?” Tim sat up and smiled pulling out the book “Awe of God” one I
had been reading as well. We dove into deep conversation which ultimately led to us both
realizing the calling is up to Him, and the outcome of the journey is up to Him. The only thing that falls on us is obedience and whether we are willing to trust Him! How could we not after what we just witnessed in the last 2 years and 6 months? As soon as we said “yes” placing our obedience in His hands Flantscheska’s oxygen, blood pressure, and heart rate stabilized, and her labs miraculously began improving vastly! What was a “Prepare yourself for a long admission” turned into a rather quick 4 day stay and she has been stable ever since!!
He showed just how powerful and how deeply involved in this story He is and just how faithful
He will continue to be as long as we trust Him! As we journey to Haiti one final time following the feet of our savior Jesus Christ to Wade and Wadleyson! Wadleyson is 8 years old and
has cerebral palsy, which mainly affects his limbs and torso, as well as seizures that are very
uncontrolled. He is fed by a G tube! Wade is 1 years old and running out of time for adoption.
He has spina bifida, club feet and has severe trauma as his orphanage in Port-Au-Prince was
overtaken by gangs which caused him to witness friends and staff perish. Both boys have
waited their entire lives for this life-changing moment! With the help of your organization, we can make that dream that lives in his beautiful heart a reality!
